Ignoring a narcissist can be a powerful way to disrupt their cycle of manipulation and control. When a narcissist is ignored, they may feel a sense of frustration or anger, as they are not receiving the attention and admiration they feel they are entitled to.
In response, a narcissist may try to escalate their behavior in order to regain control of the situation. They may become more aggressive, lash out at others, or engage in other forms of attention-seeking behavior in an attempt to elicit a response.
However, if the narcissist is not able to get the response they are looking for, they may eventually give up and move on to other targets. Ignoring a narcissist can be a powerful way to set boundaries and protect oneself from their harmful behavior.
It’s worth noting that ignoring a narcissist can also be difficult, especially if they are someone you have a close relationship with. In some cases, it may be necessary to seek professional support or assistance in order to effectively manage the situation.
